Stallion paced the perimeter of the land's epicenter, tossing his head in apparent boredom. He had scoured the edges of his kingdom for several days now, and each time, he came up empty with the number of equines in the area. Masque caught the dappld sun under the trees as he retreated to one of the lone standing trees in the battlefield. It appeared to have pockmarks, as if bullets pierced its hard bark into its soft flesh. 'Now, if I were a stallion, I'd find land- And I have more than enough of this sh.t.' He thought sourly. Of course, he'd claim the most secure place, which turned out to be the lighthouse, and make that his personal stronghold. the meadow as well would be his terrain, only an easy lop from one place to another.
He thought of allowing others to join into his lands, much like a bechelor herd at the moment, but more like herds under one large king. At that, he'd only require their loyalty, and the lucky brujo would be free to claim his mares and mount them too with no hard feelings. But then, if there were colt produced, they could live, since they were technically spawn of his own mindset, but once they were independant young stags, they could be sent away to train as soldiers, or leave and never return. Yes, what a beautiful picture. The Masque of Death with an able bodied army of his general's spawn at his disposal. Of course, he'd have his own bunch, and his spawn would too enter the military an fight for their land, and then come to take his place when he was to die. What a wonderful thought! Now then-
Stallion gored the ground and glared about, wondering what he should test his to-be genrals with. Possibly a spar to test their ability? That would be wonderful. Splash overo bellowed his laughter at his own intelligence. "Stallions, Mares! Why not join in a superpower who knows how he works the land?" He whinnied, rearing and pitching like some boat in a storm. Oh yes, yes, yes- an absolute ruler with leigons before him. Who could ask for anything more? |
